Banned From BlogRush - Deactivated My Widget

The email says not to take it personally but I don’t feel that I was fairly removed at all.

They put the main reason as:

Not Enough Unique Content

I’m guessing that they looked at the first couple of posts on my blog, copied and pasted a couple of chunks of the text, and found that they were ’scraped’ as they say from other sites.

What I think they failed to realize is that those other sites are my own sites. Also, I’ve copied 4 or 5 posts from my other blogs at most and I’ve got about 50 posts on this blog at last count so that means 9-10% of the content came from another one of my blogs - leaving 80-90% Unique Content.

Of course I realize they’ve done this to increase the quality of the blogs but being labeled as a junk blog? I’ve spent a good bit of time making sure I build up a good quality blog and don’t think that’s a fair assessment of this blog at all - I’ve even got a podcast!

I’m not allowed to re-apply until November 21st.

Now really this won’t affect my blog anyway, because the widget was not sending me enough traffic to worry about, just a trickle here and there.

Here’s a post I made about BlogRush before I added the widget:
BlogRush is Coming Today

I’d love to know - did your blog get banned like this one?

Edited to add: Hey! Just wanted to add that I still think John Reese is awesome and I’m a big fan so this is not a bashing, just wanted to state my opinion on the quality control process :).[tags]blogrush, blogrush banned, banned from blogrush[/tags]

I made it through, but I’m still waiting for the new dashboard and categories. If I don’t see any positive results once the categories are in, I’ll probably remove it.

I have seen a few good articles through it, but haven’t gotten any sort of return.

I just read another blog today that got deactivated as well. It’s disheartening since they just hired a bunch of people to go through the system. I would think the scraper sites and such would be banned, but yours seems like a wrongful doing.

I’m in the process of taking my widgets off, I’m not getting enough traffic (or any!) to make it worth it.

Hey Angela,

My account has been deactivated too.

I don’t really care, I was going to take the widget off anyways. I received almost zero traffic from it! :-(

Thanks so much for the replies so far everyone!

Vittorio, actually I was also thinking about taking mine off because it was taking up a lot of room (kinda wished they were smaller) on my sidebar and sending me very little traffic.

Kinda sucks to get booted though, lol, guess it’s my pride.

My blog made it through, and I frequently post the same blog post to several of my blogs that have similar content. I’m really surprised your blog got banned.

But, like you, I’m not getting much traffic (none, actually) from BlogRush, so I’m not sure I’d even reapply if I did get banned.

I’m sure if you email them and point them to this post maybe they will reconsider, especially since the true spammers probably wouldn’t do that.

Thanks Vera! I just hit reply to the email I got and did exactly what you suggested. I’d like to keep the widget on for another period of time so I’ll see if they’ll reconsider. :)

I got that email too, for my two blogs, I submitted another blog (the one in my sig) today and it got accepted, but this one is only 3 weeks old and has as much ads as my other ones.. Anyway, this process was really unfair and the guys he paid did a shit job, maybe under pressure, the training was like: I need this done by monday.

Hi Angela,
Oh, that is too bad - because I know how much work you put into it, and how much original content you do provide.
Mine was approved, so I guess I’m lucky.

Marshie, No they haven’t replied to the email I sent asking to re-consider, but I’m not sure if they monitor that one and also I’m guessing they’ve got a ton of emails to answer asking the same thing.

Thanks Diana :)

Hi Angela

Good to see, and for them to admit they made a mistake.
